A Mind-Body-Spirit Approach to Pre- & Peri-Menopause Management
"Having a better understanding of each topic that Amanda covers has been invaluable to me. She covers just the right amount, and is always available to follow up with questions. I also appreciate the conversations with the other women in this group and it helps knowing that I'm not on this journey by myself. You will learn a lot and have fun at the same time. Amanda is really great to work with and I always look forward to our tag ups. You will come away with resources and friends!" - Megan
"Hot Flash Happy Hour was fun, educational and cathartic, all at the same time. We learned more about essential nutrients and beneficial foods during perimenopause, and the harmful foods, too. Amanda listened carefully to our symptoms and, not only gave helpful suggestions, but followed up over email with links to additional information on the topics we discussed. If you’re tearing your hair out (both figuratively and literally) over perimenopause, this is a good way to get some informed and friendly advice on how to be proactive and take steps to feel better during this stage of life." Hormonal changes associated with perimenopause can begin as early as a woman's 30's. The fluctuations in estrogen, progesterone, and other hormones, along with nervous system dysregulation, and inflammation can wreak havoc on our physical and emotional well-being.
There are over 40 symptoms of perimenopause! Some of the more common and debilitating symptoms include:
When you use holistic, mind-body-spirit strategies to address each of the root causes of our symptoms (hormone imbalance, nervous system dysregulation, and inflammation), you can interrupt the "Symptom Cycle" and feel better than you have in a long time (maybe ever!)! You will:
PeriMenopause can be an extremely challenging and tough-to-navigate time in a woman's life.
The Peace in PeriMenopause Program is designed to support women in their 30's and 40's who want effective, science-backed, whole-person lifestyle strategies so they can reclaim their bodies (and minds!) and feel their best through perimenopause and beyond!
The program is so successful for women during this transitional phase of life because of the combination of the following 3 key components:
1) personalized support
2) community and connection
3) curated resources based on up-to-date research
Amanda M. Crisel, Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), Certified Wellness Practitioner (NWI), Pre- & Peri-menopause Coach.
I am a mama, wife, traveler, author, speaker, women's wellness advocate, and long-time perimenopause "adventurer".
After earning my Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Purdue University, I went on to complete a clinical practice residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland and then a fellowship at Eli Lilly in Indianapolis, Indiana. I then spent almost 2 decades in the pharmaceutical industry (minus some quality SAHM-time).
My perimenopause journey began at age 38 and was marked by significant and debilitating physical and emotional symptoms (and not much help).
Hormone-replacement therapy was not recommended at the time and I received no other guidance for how to manage symptoms - so took my health into my own hands and began to seek out support from outside traditional medicine channels.
There, I was introduced to a holistic, whole-person approach to managing symptoms, improving my health, and just... feeling better! I dove into the research and discovered a whole host of lifestyle-based solutions that have been shown to help with symptoms and improve our well-being.
The better I began to feel, the more I knew I needed to help other women who (like me 10 years ago) are feeling overwhelmed, confused, and exhausted and who desperately want to feel better so they can function at their best now and in the future.
I wish I could tell the younger me, but I can't, so I'll tell you - the best is yet to come...
We'd love to have you. The Peace in PeriMenopause Community is for any woman who wants to learn how to support their body naturally as they experience the emotional and physical changes associated with perimenopause. The Peace in PeriMenopause Community offers free resources, tips, education and a safe, confidential space. It's free join!
Part of my goal is to equip as many women as possible with high quality, evidence-based, and up-to-date information so they can begin to test out the small but meaningful changes that can so significantly improve their day-to-day. It takes time and testing, and what works for us today will change over time but once you find the combination that works for you... look out, world!
I am passionate about helping women understand exactly what is going on in their bodies during perimenopause and how it relates to their symptoms. Then working with them to find the combination of evidence-based tools that will work for them and their lifestyle. I want to help change the narrative around perimenopause from one of "barely getting by" to one of "self-discovery and growth"!
